Stem Borer (Chilo partellus) is a vital pest widely spread in India that adversely effects the yield of maize crop. Chilo partellus mainly attacks at knee height stage of the crop growth. The larvae of stem borer feed in the leaf funnels making holes in the leaf.Older larvae burrows in to the stem causing to weak and break the stem leading to a condition known as Dead-Heart.
